Do you love to clean the house as much as I do?
I love a clean house, but I dread the cleaning that I have to do. In fact, I would put it off for weeks until I couldn’t stand it anymore and I would waste my entire day cleaning up.
Once I started to work from home, I came up with a plan to tackle my chores. Instead of putting off cleaning all on one day, I decided to break my work into manageable pieces.
I wash once a week, preferably on Monday. I wash only my clothes because everyone else is responsible for their own. I do however wash towels, wash clothes, bath rugs, etc.
Try to tackle your laundry in one day, so you can have clean towels, clothes, etc. for the week.
Living Rooms, Bedrooms, Etc.
Except for vacuuming and dusting, you will need to unclutter each room periodically. Pick up items and put them where they belong 2 days/week.
I have to vacuum frequently because 1) I have a dog. 2) men are messy and wear their shoes in places they are told not to.
In addition to the lines in the carpet, I love a fresh-smelling carpet freshener.
If you want to deodorize your carpet – make this carpet freshener.
Except for doing the bathroom, dusting is my least favorite job. I know I’m always putting this off, but I’m telling you right now. Don’t.
Use store brought furniture polisher or you can use a DIY furniture polish,
We are clutter bugs at my house. If left to our own devices, we would have paper and shoes everywhere. It is important to pick up each room throughout the week. I don’t have any young children in my home, but if you do, picking up toys every day and making sure that every item has a place.
I clean different parts of the house practically every day. This schedule works for me and it prevents clutter from piling up. If you want to use my Deep Clean Checklist to follow or use for guidance, you can download it by clicking on the image. You can use it as is or make it fit your lifestyle.
